FUTURE WORKSHOPS
The two-day workshop at Exmouth College, 14-15 July 2010, has now completed. You can listen to an audio recording of the final performance; photographs will be available soon.
OCTOBER 2010 : TWO ONE-DAY WORKSHOPS
We are planning two one-day, non-residential workshops as follows:
- Wednesday 27th October in South Molton (more details now available)
- Thursday 28th October in Tiverton. This workshop has proved very popular by local word-of-mouth referral and unfortunately is now fully subscribed.
EARLY WARNING — 26 & 27 JANUARY 2011 : CALVERT TRUST, EXMOOR : A TWO-DAY WORKSHOP
This two-day workshop is being planned in conjunction with The Calvert Trust, Exmoor. It is intended as a mid-week break “Share Music Workshop” with an emphasis on people staying at The Calvert Trust Centre. This enables us to use the evenings for extra musical activities. This does not necessarily exclude participants attending on a non-residential basis, but this will only be if space is available.
Our two main tutors will be James Redwood and Andy Pidcock. Both of these have run many workshops and are very experienced in directing special needs groups to achieve far beyond their normal limits. James and Andy will be supported by two young professional musicians who will act as group leaders.
Final details of the costs and the booking arrangements will be published here as soon as available.
NEW IDEA!
We are also looking into the possibility of running a “Singing Workshop” led by one of our group leaders, Jessie Maryon-Davies. The intention is that this workshop would be available for anyone (both disabled and able-bodied) who is interested in singing. Jessie, a recent graduate from The Royal Academy of Music, leads a community choir in London and is the producer of Office Choir of the Year, but those of you who have worked with Jessie will know that it would be fun to participate. This would be a new venture for SHAREMUSIC SOUTH-WEST, and any ideas for making it a success would be gratefully received (by e-mail, or phone 01769 540875).
